Our variety of seeds are much superior and expensive than the commonly seen dark black ones. But it gives a really better aroma, keeping quality, enhancement to food taste and benefits. The difference will be obvious. We also do not use old stocks that require Aluminum Phosphide fumigation for storage pests. Our unique processes gives an oil that smells fresh even after months. The result is an oil that children to elders can enjoy - whether it's to cook or for a body massage. The oil is unrefined and clarified using time consuming, expensive natural sedimentation. This keeps nutrients fully intact.
Cold Pressed oil is extracted from nuts and seeds at temperatures not exceeding 50 degrees Celsius. There is no addition of any solvent to increase the Oil production or any other artificial methods. Due to lower temperature of extraction, Cold Pressed Oils are rich in nutrients, flavour and aroma. On the contrary, during the production of Refined Oils, excessive heat and chemical solvents are used which enhance the production. However, in the process the refined oils lose the nutritional values.
Puvi Sesame Oil is ideal to be used for Sauteing and as Vinaigrettes for Salads. It is also well suited for Dosa, variety rice, poriyal, veg side dishes, gravy, sambar, chutneys etc.
Puvi Cold Pressed Oils are extracted from superior quality Sesame seeds that are not malformed. As the oil is extracted using the Cold Pressing methods, the amount of oil extracted is substantially low compared to the refined oils that are extracted using high temperatures. Maintenance of the superior quality of oils increases the cost of production which makes Puvi Cold Pressed Oils a bit high priced than the unhealthy refined oils.
Our oils are filtered naturally due to which you might find some sediments of the groundnuts at the bottom. This also causes the oil to look cloudy when shaken.
At the time of cold pressing, little bit of water is added to the seeds to keep the temperature low so that the nutritional value, flavour and aroma of the oil is retained. This caused the oil to froth, when heated. To reduce the froth try adding a little bit of Tamarind while heating the oil. Once the oil is heated, remove the tamarind and continue with your cooking as usual.
Litre is a measure of volume while Kg is the measurement of weight. And, depending on the density of the liquid the amount of litres in 1 Kg differs from one to another. For example, while 1-litre Groundnut oil weighs approx. 900gm, 1-litre water weighs equal to 1 Kg of water.
