Farali Upma Recipe


  • 1 cup Samak rice (Vari Rice or Barnyard Millet)
  • 1 chopped Potato
  • 1 chopped Tomato
  • 1 chopped Green Chilli
  • ¼ cup Peanuts
  • 1 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper powder
  • Rock Salt (Sendha Namak) as per taste
  • 1 tbsp Puvi Cold Pressed Groundnut Oil
  • Chopped Coriander leaves for garnishing

PREPARATION & Farali Upma Recipe

  • Wash and soak Samak rice in water for 20 minutes
  • Drain out the excess water
  • In a Kadai, heat 1 tbsp Puvi Cold Pressed Groundnut Oil and crackle the Cumin seeds in it
  • Now add green chillies and cook for 30 seconds
  • Add Peanuts and cook for a minute
  • Then add Potatoes and cook till the potatoes are half done
  • Add Black pepper powder, salt and 2 cups of water. Cover the Kadai and bring the water to a boil
  • Now add soaked Samak rice & tomatoes & cook keeping it covered for 10 minutes on low flame
  • Switch off the flame, garnish with Coriander leaves and your fasting meal is ready.
