Sabudana Kheer Recipe


  • ¼ cup Sabudana (Tapioca Pearls/Sago)
  • 1 Cup Milk
  • 4 Tbsp Sugar (Use more if required)
  • A pinch of CardamomChopped Cashews & Almonds
  • Pinch of Kesar (Saffron)

Preparation & Sabudana Kheer Recipe

  • Rinse Sabudana well in running water and then soak it in 1 cup of water for 15-20 minutes.
  • Drain off the excess water, if any and cook the Sabudana in 1 cup of water in a Saucepan. 
  • Keep stirring occasionally to prevent it from sticking to the bottom of the pan.
  • When the Sabudana turns transparent, add 1 cup of milk and mix.
  • Cook on low heat until Sabudana softens.
  • Then, add 4tbsp Sugar and a pinch of cardamom. Stir well. 
  • Once the Kheer is cooked, garnish it with chopped dry fruits and saffron.
  • Enjoy hot or chilled.
